The production logos above are all logos from horror genre films, this is noticable because of the graphics used, the words, the dark tones and black colour schemes. My production logo will look more like the horror related logos because i am creating a horror/thriller film.

After talking to our teacher and presenting our proposals, we left time to think of which proposal plot idea would be better, and which would be more realistic to make. After discussion we have decided to go plot idea 1, with the idea of an obsessed girl targeting a innocent group of girls. We chose this because it was more realistic to make and can allow us to make a fairly simple idea more in depth.

Plot:

A girl becomes possessed and tries to posses everyone in her school with success until one group try to overthrow her.

Cinematography:

Hand held camera effect

-Possibly tint each shots a darker shade

Proposal x1

Plot: A group of college collage friends are being stalked by someone who is unknown to them. Strange events happen and they feel as though they are being watched. After a number of mishap’s the stalker is revealed a friend of the 3 girls, she has become obsessed with them and suffers from physiological issues. The friends always thought she was strange but meant no harm. But when the girls begin to not include her and push her from the group, the girl becomes obsessed and does everything she can to make there lives hell.

Background: Three friends who have been very close throughout school has welcomed a new girl within their group thinking she was a nice and sweet girl. No one really noes much about her and were she came from but on the surface she seemed like an average 17 year old. To the girls surprise she had spent some time in a mental asylum with physiological problems. The girls don’t include her in everything and it sparks her obsession and begins to stalk them and make them fearful of being watched, she is extremely jealous of there friendship and craves attention. She puts the girls lives at risk and herself in a dramatic climax.

Cinematography:

-Hand held cameras when the mysterious events take place

-Sony HD cameras for sturdier look for the other shots.

-a mixture of long stots and mid shot for the scenes were all three friends are involved.

-Close ups on the faces for facial expression

-Tight framing when the friends are in a group shot to show their closeness

Editing:

-Black screen jump cuts in-between shot to shot

-The black screen speeds up as the tempo

-Tight framing when the friends are in a group shot to show their closeness

Sound:

-Sound effects (BOOM) when each shot jumps to a black screen

 This is my sound test using Garage band, you tube converter and I movie. This relates to my selected genre of film, but doesn't sound scarey enough to use for the plot i have in mind.

London

While we were in London we visited a film museum, which included memorabilia from films, and information on the history of films which i found to be very interesting. There were different rooms for different film Geners including Horror, Superhero, and Animation. There was also a room which was completely dedicated to Harry Potter, as shown on the first picture above, another room included a star wars set and other sci-fi film memorabilia. The museum was interesting and informative to look at especially the parts which i could relate to.

 

On Thursday morning we visited the BBFC for a presentation on the world of film classification. The talk was very interesting and the woman who spoke to us gave many examples of cases through her Career, i learnt things about certain films and how they got there classification rating. She gave us some useful information and made the 2 hour talk informative and with examples like 'The Dark Knight' and 'The Simpson's Movie'.
