This film poster is for a film called 'Friday The 13th, a thriller/ horror film, which is apparent by the looks of this poster. A long shot has been chosen to show the entire profile of the protagonist, and from this shot we see that he is the main focus character. The darkness and amount of black and dark blue colours suggest a horror film genre, also the character looks creepy, holding a weapon whilst wearing a mask. From the photograph and the film title there is a narrative suggesting that Friday the 13th will be an eventful time, due to the focus character. The audience of this film is targeted at age 18, therefor our trailer and poster will be less scary than of this film, and will target more 15 years old. The mise-en-scene is in a woods and again shows that the genre is relevant to a horror/thriller film. You can easily show that this is a Film poster because of the Steel tongs font at the bottom including the production company logo and cast members.
Analysis 2-
This film poster is for a film called 'The Strangers' a thriller relating to my genre of film. A long shot had been chosen for this poster to show the house environment and to show the possible main character, with a mysterious protagonist lurking in the dark part of the room. The theme of the poster and the stalker vibe from it suggests a horror/thriller genre which will relate to the theme and genre for when i create my film poster. The narrative of this poster suggests a feeling of stalking and being watched, and an invasion of the girl characters home, other than than the poster doesn't give to much away considering the plot. The audience this film appeals to is age 15, like the trailer i am creating, this is suitable for this age group because it looks scary, but not gruesome and and as dark as other film posters. The mise-en-scene of this trailer is quite normal, showing a room which looks quite homely but with a brown musky tint. The effect on the poster has whats called 'Burnt Edges' were the outside of a image is black and makes the poster look darker and more relevant to the genre. The steel tongs font has been used to show that this is a film poster, with information which includes the production company names and the cast members.
